Ok, so Christmas is the time for presents, but more importantly the time for giving ^^. I'm making it a goal this season to donate a little more to the food drive and do the secret santa stuff like we used to do when we were little for the families who needed it but were too prideful to ask (and I mean no offense with that, I hate asking for help myself when it comes to that sort of thing)

I got this idea from IceandSnow to do a christmas wishlist, and I encourage you all to do it too, it sound like fun!

BASICALLY, make a Christmas or Holiday wish list of any 10 wishes you'd like to have granted no matter how possible. People look and grant the wishes if they can. It's not about "GIMME" its about making someone else's holiday a bit better by giving. Its a really cool thing to give instead of just doing the "gimmegimmegimme" throughout the season. And yes, I will be trying to give to others here especially if I see they have a wishlist.

FIRST!
-Make a post in your journal containing your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

-If you wish for something possible, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post (your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you). Or you could just note somebody here on DA, make it easier.

-Make sure you post some version of these guidelines so that others can join in and participate to spread the holiday joy!

SECOND!
-Surf your friend list to see who has posted a list. NOW THE IMPORTANT PART!

-If you see a wish you can grant and you find it in your heart to do it, make someone's wish come true. One person's trash is anothers treasure so if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

-YOU DO NOT NEED TO SPEND MONEY ON THIS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO! People are a little hard up for money this year and besides, the point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not, you decide.

-There are no rules for this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just make a wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

-My Wishlist-

1. Art of any kind, I love original works and seeing what people can create. That and my apartment is kinda bare, its depressing...

2. A DA subscription, I've never had one and I just think it would be really cool ^_^

3. Scarves, the big wide ones. I like to wrap them around my head and it keeps the snow out of my hair and my ears and neck warm, though my friends make fun of me and tell me I look like I'm from the middle east. They get punched for these offensive comments.

4. Hot chocolate or tea. yuuuuuuuuuummm!

5. Random cool or funny things, I'm a packrat. I like my niknaks.

6. This is a horrible thing to want....but I loooooove fur! soft, fluffy things or anything that feels interesting. I'm a textile freak.

7. fabric, any kind. I like to make blankets. even scraps are good, mom knows how to quilt and I want her to teach me.

8. PLEASE GO DONATE TO A LOCAL FOOD BANK! The food bank was the only reason we didn't starve last year and apparently they don't have nearly enough donations this year. Please help out if you can.

9. The most unlikely, but I want a scanner...and I need to know where I can get my huge sketches scanned. I like my huge sketchbooks, not willing to give up on them.

10. Things that smell good...candles, incense, oils, etc. as long as its not sickeningly sweet or really fruity.
